The Bible is a collection of 66 books, written over ~1400 years by ~40 different authors in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. It is God's testimony of how He has collaborated with humanity through time, and even though we read it as one book today, it was written over centuries by people who more often than not did not know each other. Even still they all wrote with the same consistent message pointing to the Messiah (or Saviour), Jesus Christ. Not only is the Bible the most scrutinised, fact-checked book in history, it contains God's word, along with the power to convert and heal people to eternal life. You may be wondering, 'why did God go to all this effort?' Short answer: because He loves us and wants us to live in eternity with Him!
Death is the consequence of sin, and we cannot save ourselves. Jesus is Lord of all, and He sustains everything in creation. He is also holy, and He doesn't tolerate sin. He has given us the privilege of free will, but Jesus is also our judge. Without forgiveness for our sins and reconciliation with God, who is triune in nature- Father Son, and Holy Spirit, we face an eternity of darkness and torment after our physical death.
This is why Jesus stepped out of the glory of heaven and came to Earth, to defeat death and justify us to eternal life. Jesus lived the perfect, sinless life that we can't, willingly laid down His life and shed His blood on the cross as payment for our sins. He was buried and rose to life three days later, proving His authority, divinity, and assurance to everyone who believes in Him God's promise of eternal life.
As our sole mediator to the Father, Jesus is the only way to heaven, peace, and eternal life. You will likely be confronted with many doubts, fears, opposition from others, and even feel unredeemable, but rest assured God is love and He wants to forgive- for He has already taken the initiative and done what is necessary for our salvation. All we need is faith, even as small as a mustard seed, that God is true to His Word, because God is love and He cannot lie. You will find Him, when you seek Him with all your heart!
"...because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
