Faith

can seem fuzzy and intangible in a world where we are conditioned to trust only in what we see. But faith remains one of most powerful things we can hold on to when we feel afraid, anxious, and hopeless.

Faith is more than simply a feeling and it goes beyond what we can see with our eyes. Faith is assurance of things hoped for, and the evidence of what we cannot see.

Faith is Trust,
intertwined with Hope and Love.
Bible

Just as we have faith in our parents, teachers, and loved ones that they want the best for us, faith in God simply means trusting in His goodness.

No matter what we go through, our Father in Heaven is our refuge and strength- an ever-present help in times of trouble even when things just seem impossible to overcome.

What is impossible with man is possible with God.
Luke 18:27
Faith

gave Abraham and Sarah a son, Isaac in their old age,

led Moses and the Israelites through the wilderness for 40 years,

guided Joshua and the Israelites to victory in Canaan,

helped David overcome Goliath against all odds,

and through Samuel, Elijah, the prophets and saints,

subdued kingdoms,

wrought righteousness,

obtained promises,

stopped the mouths of lions,

quenched the violence of fire,

prevented the edge of the sword,

and made people strong in weakness.

Some were tortured, suffered mocking and flogging, chained in prisons, stoned, sawn in two, killed with the sword, lived destitute, afflicted, mistreated lives, and didn’t see all of God’s promises fulfilled in their lifetime.

Even still, they acknowledged they were strangers and exiles on earth because they looked forward to a better country- a heavenly one.

The people of faith who came before us patiently endured tribulation, ran the race, and kept their faith, for God had something better in mind:

they would not reach perfection without us.

Faith
Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Romans 8:24-25

The righteousness revealed by faith is found in God’s only begotten Son,

Jesus Christ.

As the fullness of God in human flesh, Jesus stepped out of the glory and power of heaven to be born of a virgin Mary over 2000 years ago in Bethlehem.

Even though He lived a sinless life, He was persecuted and eventually crucified because He testified of the truth. But this was all part of God's plan, because only Jesus could willingly lay down His life as the sinless Lamb of God to redeem us from sin and death.

After His death and burial, Jesus rose to life on the third day, demonstrating to all the power of love to overcome death itself.

Just as sin came into the world through Adam, Jesus’ sacrifice for the sins of the world leads to

justification and life for all who choose to place their faith in Him.

And just as we are all appointed to die once and then be judged, Jesus, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time to raise all who trust in Him to eternal life, when He makes everything new in a world where God will dwell with man.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.”
John 11:25-26

Faith, Hope, and Love

Last forever

There is no greater love than to lay down your life for your friends. Love rejoices in truth, it never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Jesus endured the suffering and pain because of His love for us, and the example He set at the cross is the foundation on which God's kingdom is built on, and the foundation for how we should live our own lives.

Branch
Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:6-7

Whatever mountain we face in life, God knows our fears, doubts, sins, weaknesses, and He also knows what we need to overcome these things.

God’s love demonstrated at the cross shows that love is so much more powerful than death, and that a life built on faith, hope, and love will not be shaken.

Even though we may face troubles, persecution, and danger in this world, our victory is already won through Jesus, who first loved us.

Love never fails.

Prayer

With God's love in mind, we wait patiently for our blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us so that we can know God's love for ourself and be redeemed from sin and death.

If you would like to turn in faith to God you can try praying something like this to get started.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for my life and upholding me even when I've hurt you and others. I believe Jesus shed His blood for my sins and I come to You now because I want peace with You.

I trust in Your goodness and and I want to know eternal love, peace, and joy. Please forgive me of my sins, cleanse me from all unrighteousness, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit.

Help me to start over and live a life of righteousness so I can be a blessing to others and to You from this day forward.

Thank you for your amazing grace and love!

In Jesus' name,
Amen

Prayer
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

You can get to know God by reading the Bible, which contains God's love letter to us. Try starting with John or Romans, or pray and ask Him for guidance as to what to do next. Talk about your faith in Jesus with others, and keep seeking Him, keep asking, and keep knocking. You may face opposition, doubts, fears, and many questions, but God knows what you need, and you will find Him when you seek Him with all your heart.
